Chaminade-Madonna began the turnaround to contender status this past season under first-year coach Jason Milgrom.

On Wednesday, Milgrom and the Lions celebrated as seven of their seniors signed with colleges.

The most prominent was safety Justin Thomas, who officially declared his intention to attend West Point and play for Army. At 6-2, 180-pounds, Thomas should make a quick impact for the Cadets’ secondary. Thomas had 71 tackles, including 37 solo, and had two forced fumbles and two recoveries this past season while helping Chaminade post a 7-3 record and reach the Class 3A regional semifinals.

Chaminade also had quarterback Kole Stealy and offensive lineman Alex Feliz each sign with Northern Michigan. Tight end Trevor Taylor signed with Benedictine University and defensive back Joshua Matthews and wide receiver Edward Mayo each signed with John Carroll University.

Kicker/punter Austin Laszewski signed with the University of Louisville as a preferred walk-on.
