An impressive class of Cypress Bay athletes signed national letters of intent on Wednesday, headlined by wide receiver Andrew Parchment (Northern Illinois) and linebacker Christian Gomez (Army).

Parchment had been committed to Northern Illinois for a week before committing Friday, but he wanted to keep it quiet so he could make a National Signing Day announcement. However, after meeting with wide receivers coach Thad Ward and offensive coordinator Mike Uremovich that Friday morning, he couldn’t keep the secret any longer and decided to commit orally.

“It’s just a great all-around fit, bunch of players from South Florida that I get along with real well,” Parchment said. “Coach Ward [is a] great wide receivers coach. Me and him really kicked it off when we started connecting.”

Parchment (the No. 46 prospect in the Miami Herald’s Broward rankings), a former Cincinnati commit, announced that he chose the Huskies over Western Michigan, Syracuse and FAU after originally committing to the staff on Jan. 22.

Cypress Bay also had their cornerback combo sign, with Darrell Malone choosing Coastal Carolina and Isaiah Sampson opting for Air Force Academy.
