Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Receives Free Agency News on Monday

The Dallas Cowboys head into the 2026 season looking to end a frustrating two-year playoff drought. Despite fielding one of the league's most productive offenses in 2025, Dallas finished 7-9-1 and missed the postseason.

Dak Prescott did his part, throwing for 4,552 yards and helping lead the NFL's top-ranked offense in total yardage. The Cowboys accumulated 6,663 offensive yards during the regular season, averaging 391.9 yards per game, the highest mark in the league.

Prescott's individual production remained among the NFL's best. He finished third in the league in passing yards and helped orchestrate an offense that ranked first in passing yards per game at 278.5. Yet defensive issues ultimately undermined Dallas' season, with the Cowboys surrendering an NFL-worst 30.1 points per game.

The front office responded aggressively this offseason by bringing in players like defensive end Rashan Gary via trade. The Cowboys also doubled down on their offense. George Pickens, who posted a Pro Bowl season with 93 receptions, 1,429 yards, and nine touchdowns in 2025, was retained on the franchise tag after becoming one of Prescott's most important weapons.

To add to the list of reinforcements, Dallas made another move on Monday. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Cowboys are signing UFL offensive lineman Chris Glaser.

Glaser, a former undrafted free agent out of Virginia, previously spent time with the New York Jets and Chicago Bears organizations and appeared in eight NFL games before continuing his development in the UFL. At 6-foot-5 and more than 300 pounds, he offers versatility along the interior offensive line and will compete for a roster spot during training camp.

While Glaser is unlikely to enter camp as a projected starter, the signing signals Dallas is doing all it can to strengthen the roster around Prescott by ensuring enough depth on the offensive line.

Dallas opens the 2026 regular season on September 13 against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on NBC.
