Stephanie White Highlights Silver Lining of Indiana Fever's Unfavorable Situation

Stephanie White and the Indiana Fever may be on a two-game losing skid, but the head coach continues to focus on the bright side.

During her media availability on Wednesday, reporters asked White about what she has seen from the team's leaders. The 48-year-old highlighted that the adversity has given them a chance to learn how to adapt and overcome it. She added that it also allowed the players to learn more about themselves.

"Yeah, I mean, I think that there are voices that we are hearing that may not have spoken up before that I think is really, really good," White said. "You know, there are players who are learning to get outside of themselves when things aren't going well for them to be a better leader.

"You know, oftentimes, it's a human nature, right? If you're struggling or you're going through something, you sort of internalize everything."

White revealed how the hard times have brought out the best in her players.

"I think the best way to get yourself going is to pour into your teammates, to pour into one another," continued the Fever boss. "And so we're learning how to do that.

"I mean, you know, our core group is pretty young, so to speak, and learning how to go through some of these ups and downs, you know, is important."

The Fever are 4-4 and are coming off road losses to the Golden State Valkyries and Portland Fire. They started the season by losing two of their first three games. Indiana bounced back with three consecutive victories before its current skid.

The team will host Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream on Thursday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Winning against the Eastern Conference leaders could be what the Fever needs to turn their fortunes around.

The upcoming schedule gets tougher for them as they will play three of their next four games on the road.
