Is It Championship or Bust for Indiana Fever? Lexie Hull Gives Candid Answer

Lexie Hull says that anything less than a championship for the Indiana Fever is a disappointment.

Since Caitlin Clark's arrival with the franchise in 2024 as the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft, Indiana has faced enormous pressure.

But expectations are especially high for the team this year after their overachievement last season, when they reached the semifinals as the No. 6 seed.

Additionally, they won the Commissioner's Cup last season, which added more weight on their shoulders to perform well.

In a recent interview, Fever guard Lexie Hull asserted that they have a real shot at the title this season and the team's current mindset.

"Yeah, I think that's the mindset we go into every season with," Hull said. "But especially this year, I feel like we have the group we need. We have every piece that we feel like is needed to win a championship."

But with their current 4-4 record and a two-game losing streak, Hull admits they're still figuring it out as a team.

"That's something we're going to keep building and working on, and continue developing that chemistry," she said.

With Clark leading the offense and Aliyah Boston imposing her presence inside the paint, Indiana has a legitimate chance of winning it all.

They also added another dynamic guard, Raven Johnson, with their 10th-round pick in this year's draft.

Johnson is expected to help Clark with playmaking duties and relieve some pressure off of her.

Ultimately, Hull and the Fever expect nothing less but to lift the coveted the WNBA championship trophy at the end of the season.

"By the end of the year, a championship is definitely the end goal for us," Hull stated. "We'll all be very disappointed if that doesn't happen."
