Lexie Hull Sends Clear Message to Indiana Fever After Concerning Losses

Lexie Hull's production has declined across the board this season. The Indiana Fever guard is averaging 5.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.6 steals per game in 2026 after tallying a 7-4-2-1 stat line last year.

The veteran guard's performance is a microcosm of Indiana's struggles so far this campaign. The team has dropped to 4-4 after two straight losses, with defense being a major problem. In three of their four losses, the Fever have allowed opponents to score at least 100 points.

Hull remains optimistic about the Fever's ability to turn things around and become title contenders. However, she shared a clear reminder of what they need to do moving forward if they want to get out of their current slump.

"That we need to go in every single game with a kill mindset," Hull said when asked what she has learned amid their up-and-down start to the season. "We can't be the ones to get punched first. We need to be the ones that assert ourselves."

To Hull's point, the Fever have shown a lack of urgency in their recent losses. Against the Golden State Valkyries and Portland Fire, the Fever allowed both teams to take control of the game in the first quarter.

Portland, in particular, ended the first quarter leading 29-15. As Hull and the Fever discovered, it's hard to come back from such large deficits.

It will be interesting to see if the Fever will respond to Hull's call, but there's no doubt they have the capability to be a dominant team on both ends of the floor. The only question now is whether they can pair that talent with the aggressiveness needed to win games.
