NRFI, YRFI MLB Bets Today: Best First Inning Predictions for Saturday, May 30

We have a busy Saturday with several games starting up in the afternoon. Be sure to get those bets in to take advantage of what we've targeted as the best NRFI and YRFI bets to tail.

The Atlanta Braves have been one of the best teams in baseball, and their offense is among the league leaders in most offensive categories. They're facing the Cincinnati Reds in a hitters' paradise, and both starters struggle in the first. We also like NRFIs between the Minnesota Twins and Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today

Atlanta Braves at Cincinnati Reds YRFI (-150)

We head to the "Great American Small Park" targeting a YRFI. It cashed here Friday as the Braves put up a run in the first. The Braves throw LHP Martin Perez, who sports a solid 2.70 ERA on the season. The same can't be said about his first-inning performance as he has a 6.43 ERA in the first. On the other side is RHP Brady Singer, who says "hold my beverage" with an 8.10 ERA in the first. This is one of the premier hitters' parks to target a YRFI.

Minnesota Twins at Pittsburgh Pirates NRFI (-120)

The Twins go with RHP Bailey Ober, who is 6-2 with a 3.92 ERA in a solid start to the season. He has been lights out with a .158 opponents' batting average and a 1.64 ERA in the first inning. On the other side, RHP Mitch Keller takes the ball. He has a decent 3.27 ERA in the first inning. Neither offense is particularly imposing, so this looks like a good NRFI to target.

San Diego Padres at Washington Nationals NRFI (-120)

Padres RHP Michael King is one of the best pitchers in the National League. He really shows that in the first inning with just one earned run allowed in the first in 11 starts. Nats lefty Foster Griffin is a relative unknown. The 30-year-old had no career starts in the majors entering the season and went 6-2 with a 3.63 ERA in his first 11 turns. He has been solid in the first with a 3.27 ERA.

What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?

The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
