Eileen Gu Lands Prestigious June Cover Of Harper's Bazaar

Olympic freestyle skier Eileen Gu is returning to the spotlight just in time for summer.

Gu entered the 2026 Winter Games in Milan with a ton of pressure on her shoulders, and yet, she won gold in the halfpipe and silver in the big air and slopestyle events. The San Francisco native now has six Olympic medals on her résumé at the young age of 22.

"Winning a medal at the Olympics is a life-changing experience for every athlete," Gu told a reporter who questioned if her silver medals can be viewed as a disappointment. "Doing it five times is exponentially harder because every medal is equally hard for me, but everybody else's expectations rise, right? And so the ‘two medals lost' situation to be quite frank with you I think is kind of a ridiculous perspective to take. I'm showcasing my best skiing, I'm doing things that quite literally have never been done before, and so I think that is more than good enough."

Even though Gu is technically in offseason mode, she's still keeping herself busy. Earlier this week, she revealed that she's the cover model for June's issue of Harper's Bazaar.

Gu's cover photo for Harper's Bazaar generated quite some buzz this Thursday.

"You're unreal," NASCAR driver Toni Breidinger said.

"Incredible," one person wrote.

"Oh my gooooooooood, wow, this is art, you are magnificent," another person commented.

Eileen Gu is no stranger to turning heads.

Following her incredible run in Milan, the talented skier spent time at Milan Fashion Week.

If we rewind just one year ago, Gu made her debut with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. She was part of a rookie class that included Cameron Brink, Nelly Korda and Gabby Thomas.

"I think the first time that I had girls on my team, I was around 14 or 15 […] so I definitely felt as though I stuck out a little bit," Gu told SI Swimsuit. "I think I was definitely trying to mask myself and trying to fit in and be more accepted. I wanted to look like the other people in the industry, and for the most part, those were boys. So, I think reconciling with my femininity-particularly when I turned 14,15 and started working in fashion more-was a pivotal step of my development."

It won't be long before Gu goes viral yet again, that's for sure.
