Deion Sanders Wants Meeting With Browns Head Coach To Discuss Shedeur

Deion Sanders has made it known that he'd like to sit down and chat with Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken.

Sanders, who is entering his fourth year at Colorado, knows very well how Shedeur operates both on and off the field. He could teach Monken a thing or two about his young quarterback, not just as his father, but as his coach.

"I was supposed to go, actually next week but I've got to shoot a commercial, to Cleveland to meet [Monken]," Sanders told Garrett Bush, via Pro Football Talk. "Because I want to meet him. Because I think it's vital that as a coach, not the dad, I can tell him a few things about [Shedeur], how to get him going. That wasn't asked of me a year ago. I don't understand it. Even a guy like Travis Hunter being drafted to Jacksonville and I've had him for the last three [seasons], don't you think you would want to talk to me to ask me what gets him going and what backs him off? You would want to know that. So, I anticipate, and I can't wait to have that conversation with Coach Monken."

A meeting between Sanders and Monken hasn't been set just yet, but the Hall of Famer seems confident that something will get done.

Will Shedeur be the Week 1 starter for the Browns?

Sanders completed 56.6% of his pass attempts during his rookie season for 1,400 yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. While fans in Cleveland would like to see him get a second crack at leading the first-team offense, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported that Deshaun Watson has the "inside track" at being the Week 1 starter.

"With my breaking news here that Deshaun Watson has taken the lead over Shedeur Sanders in the Browns QB competition and has the inside track to win it, I think they should declare him QB1 asap and let the 1st team offense start to cook," Cabot wrote on social media. "There's no time to waste."

Sanders still has time to make a strong impression on Monken and his staff. It's also possible his father puts in a great word for him.

For now though, Sanders will have to earn every opportunity he gets with the Browns.
