WWE Star Seth Rollins Stormed Off NFL Draft Set Thursday

WWE superstar Seth Rollins was a guest on Good Morning Football this morning and things got so heated at one point that he stormed off the set.

GMFB co-host Kyle Brandt decided to take a few jabs at Rollins, a diehard Chicago Bears fan, over the success that former Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has continued to enjoy in his 40s. He then joked that "none of them were predetermined" in perhaps the most insulting jab that Brandt could make at any pro wrestler.

"Rodgers was winning games in his forties, and none of them were predetermined," Brandt remarked.

Rollins was then asked if he thought it was more impressive to be playing QB in the NFL at age 42 or competing in WrestleMania at his age (39). Rollins remarked that it felt they were antagonizing him and declared that it's much harder for wrestlers because they don't enjoy the protections that quarterbacks do.

"You say it's not personal, but it's starting to feel a bit personal, to be honest with you," Rollins said. "The bottom line is that wrestling at WrestleMania is more difficult than playing in the NFL at 42, especially if we're talking about Aaron Rodgers at the quarterback position. These guys don't get hit. They're protected. They don't get hit. They go down when they want. WrestleMania's not like that."

But Brandt would not dignify that answer from Rollins. Brandt asserted that even being in the NFL at 32 is more impressive than what Rollins is doing, declaring that a seventh-round draft pick could probably jump off the top rope like Rollins does.

"I love wrestling and have watched it my whole life, but I'm not going to sit here on the NFL's Network and dignify this question. The NFL at 42 vs. wrestling at 39… the NFL at 32 is more impressive than wrestling at 39. The NFL at 22 is more impressive than wrestling at 39. Any seventh round pick tonight can go off the top rope."

It was at that point that Rollins stormed off, though not before telling off Brandt.

"Yeah, you know what? I don't really appreciate this," Rollins said. "I don't have to do this. I don't have to be on your show. I do want to be here, but not when I'm treated like this. I don't have to do this. You want to steal every segment? That's your thing."

Brandt continued to snipe at Rollins a bit after the awkward ending to the segment.

Fans are still debating whether that was a planned work or a case of Brandt pushing things a little too far. It certainly felt real and works don't usually involve insulting the craft of wrestling itself.

Then again, there have been a whole bunch of those type of works lately, whether it's Tom Brady, Pat McAfee or a slew of other mainstream talents outside of the wrestling world. Nothing seems off limits anymore.
