After Miami Beach voters defeated the amendment to increase the floor-area ratio Ocean Terrace in November, the developer Sandor Scher continues to bully his opponents to agree to a height increase for Ocean Terrace.
Now he wants a height increase that is more than three times the legal limit. According to Scher, he already has enough votes on the Miami Beach City Commission to pass this variance and just wants to be a good neighbor. Really?
Did four of the commissioners and the mayor already commit their votes to Scher? Is this vote already in the bag? Even before the first reading of the proposed height variance? This would all but ignore a recent vote of the majority of Miami Beach constituents.
How many times and in how many ways do the residents of Miami Beach have to say No to the same issue?
