No to ‘campus carry’

My jaw dropped as I read Thomas L. Knapp’s Nov. 22 piece, ‘Campus carry’ gun bill doesn’t go far enough. The NRA and gun-rights activists tout the Second Amendment, but when it was written the authors had no vision of the type of weapons that would be available.

We’ve heard the statistics that guns kill more Americans each year than terrorists do. Sad, but true.

Perhaps we should compile a National Registry of NRA leaders who constantly block rational and responsible gun legislation.

Here’s someone advocating that anyone — no matter how old — should be able to carry guns on campuses, no license required.

No wonder I feel safer on the streets of Paris than in Miami.
