Members of the Miami-Dade legislative delegation on Monday met with the Miami Herald Editorial Board to discuss their agenda for the March session in Tallahassee.
Among those attending the meeting: Delegation chair Sen. Anitere Flores (R), Rep. Erik Fresen (R), Rep. Jose Javier Rodriguez (D), Sen. Oscar Braynon II (D) and Sen. Gwen Margolis (D).
Among the anticipated hot topics: Delays in processing homeowners property-tax appeals by the Value Adjustment Board; allocating Amendment 1 environmental funds; property insurance and juvenile-justice issues, mainly finding a way to decriminalize some offenses when involving young violators.
The delegation says it’s also taking on topics that impact South Florida, which they will address long-term. They include: education, transportation and the environment.
It’s a good start.
