A truck fire closed the westbound lanes of the MacArthur Causeway during the Wednesday morning rush hour, causing major traffic tie-ups before authorities could get all three lanes open, according to traffic cameras.

Fire crews worked to put out the flames and all westbound lanes reopened as of about 9:40 a.m. Police had been redirecting traffic to the Julia Tuttle Causeway, Total Traffic Miami reported.

Eastbound lanes and traffic from the Port of Miami were unaffected.
