82-foot yacht catches fire, temporary closing bridge near loanDepot Park before Marlins game

An 82-foot yacht that was engulfed in flames temporarily closed the Northwest 12th Avenue bridge near loanDepot Park before Sunday’s Miami Marlins game.

Clouds of smoke and the blaze on the boat, described as a Vision F2 yacht, were captured on video shared by Only in Dade on social media.

According to NBC 6, more than 30 units and 100 firefighters helped subdue the flames at Merrill-Stevens Yachts.

Miami police announced the bridge closure at 11:17 a.m., two hours and 23 minutes before Sunday’s scheduled first pitch at loanDepot Park.

That’s the bridge taken by fans who get to the park via State Rd. 836 (aka Dolphin Expressway) west or by taking Metrorail to the Jackson Hospital area station and walking.
