Vehicle fire shuts down lanes on the Palmetto Expressway, and traffic is backed up

What we know: A vehicle fire is causing heavy delays on the Palmetto Expressway shortly before Tuesday morning’s rush hour.

Where is it: The vehicle is in the northbound lanes near Northwest 25th Street, according to multiple reports.

The fire has shut down all but one right lane of traffic just before Northwest 25th Street, according to WSVN.

What this means for you: Video taken by WSVN and Total Traffic Miami shows heavy delays piling up along the expressway. Drivers should seek alternate routes.

What we don’t know: It’s unclear what caused the fire and if there are any injuries.
