A car fire left one person dead along Interstate 75 in Weston. The burning vehicle was found “completely engulfed” in flames on the right shoulder of the interstate’s southbound lanes near Royal Palm Boulevard just before Monday morning’s rush hour was set to begin, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Delays were “stacking up” to the Sawgrass Expressway shortly after the crash, according to Total Traffic Miami.

Two lanes were shut down while investigators worked to determine what caused the fire. The person inside the vehicle was found dead inside.
There were no other vehicles involved, according to troopers. The victim’s identity has not been released.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
