    Hank Mihelcic, 85, of Belleville, received a heart transplant in 1986 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was 54 years old at the time and received a heart from a 16-year-old Wisconsin boy. He was the 29th person to receive a heart transplant at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Most heart transplant patients don’t live more than 20 years. He just passed 30.
