Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, may gave felt snubbed by outsider darling Sarah Palin’s embrace of Donald Trump but now he’s got conservative firebrand Glenn Beck in his corner.

Beck, a Dallas-based influential conservative radio talk-show host, will campaign with Cruz in Iowa on Saturday. This week he told Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, “Cruz is my guy.”

Beck is breaking ranks with Palin, the GOP’s vice-presidential candidate in 2008, who earlier this week endorsed New York billionaire Trump. In a Facebook post, Beck took Palin to task: “Small Government, lower taxes, fewer regulations and the constitution?

Not any more.”

“Big government, bailouts, executive orders, not just abortion but partial birth abortion, nationalizing of banks, stimulus, pathway to citizenship,” Beck continued, saying they were all positions Trump has held and is not a true conservative.

“I couldn't disagree with her more but she has played the game now for years,” Beck said of Palin.

In a jab at Palin, who often refers to her press critics as being in the “lamestream media.” Beck said, “Maybe the press was right about her but for all of the wrong reasons.”

Palin campaigned for Cruz in his 2012 Senate primary in Texas and he has often credited her with his victory.

Trump, in a tweet, blasted “wacko” Beck, saying “Glenn is a failing, crying, lost soul.”
