Man, 29, shot dead in Brownsville
A 29-year-old man was shot dead Wednesday afternoon in the Brownsville neighborhood of Northwest Miami-Dade County, according to Miami-Dade detective Dan Ferrin.
Someone called police at 2:25 p.m. to report shots fired in the residential 5100 block of Northwest 29th Avenue.
Miami-Dade Schools police officers were the first to arrive and found Travis Riggins on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics later declared him dead at the scene.
Detectives say a person dressed in dark-colored clothing was seen running back to the passenger side of a white newer-model SUV, which fled westbound on Northwest 52nd Street.
