PortMiami toll worker arrested after detective say he pocketed cash

A PortMiami toll worker was arrested Monday and charged with official misconduct, organized scheme to defraud and grand theft after detectives say he stole parking toll revenue.

According to police, Miami-Dade County employee Darrel Cason, 47, was arrested “after a long term investigation into the theft of parking toll revenue.”

Cason, who was arrested at PortMiami at 11:30 a.m. Monday, appeared to be out of jail by Monday night, according to jail records.

No further details including how much money was missing or for how long the scheme went on were available Monday night.
