Three killed in head-on collision in West Miami-Dade

Three people died and one was airlifted to the hospital in a head-on collision Wednesday night in West Miami-Dade.

The two-car crash happened on Tamiami Trail, about 10 miles west of Krome Avenue, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Emergency workers airlifted one person to Kendall Regional Hospital.

As of 11 p.m., the road was closed in both directions as FHP officials investigated the scene. The road reopened Thursday morning.
