Miami Beach police looking for suspect in hit-and-run accident
Miami Beach police are looking for a suspect who attempted to steal a car, drove off in another vehicle and eventually hit a cyclist and kept driving.
The incident happened at about 12:30 p.m. at Washington Avenue and First Street when a police officer saw the attempted carjacking. The suspect ran away from the officer and then drove off in another car westbound on to the MacArthur Causeway. As he sped away he hit a cyclist near Palm Island and kept driving.
The cyclist, who has not been named, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police are looking for a 2013 or 2014 white Chrysler 300 with tinted windows, a missing passenger side mirror and front bumper damage. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-8477.
