Miami Beach bans all Styrofoam products

Styrofoam is no longer allowed in Miami Beach parks, and city vendors and restaurants that operate on city sidewalks can’t use the product.

Elected officials on Wednesday approved a ban on Styrofoam products, which was proposed by Commissioner Michael Grieco. He says Miami Beach is the first city in Florida to enact such a prohibition.

The ban was prompted by environmental and health concerns.
