Brawl at the bar: Stabbing, shooting leaves 1 dead, other bloodied

Two men were downing some afternoon drinks at Grumpy’s bar in Southwest Miami-Dade Tuesday when, well … they got grumpy.

Actually, they got downright angry.

One pulled out a knife and started stabbing the other — repeatedly, police said.

Bloodied and critically wounded, the man managed to get a gun and staggered outside the bar in search of the stabber. That's when the wounded man shot and killed his assailant, police say.

“There’s a lot to sort out at this point,” said Jennifer Capote, a spokeswoman for Miami-Dade police.

Capote said the fight began at about 2:30 p.m. inside the bar, 29340 SW 152nd Ave.

The stabbing victim was taken to Jackson South Community Hospital and then airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center.
