Child airlifted to hospital after being bitten by a dog

A child was airlifted to Nicklaus Children's Hospital after being bitten by a dog, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

The incident happened about 4 p.m. near Southwest 161st Street and 154th Court.

The child, who was under 10, suffered a “serious injury,” according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokeswoman.

NBC6 reported that the child was attacked by the family’s pet inside her home.
