Hialeah Park Casino robbed at gunpoint

The Hialeah Park Casino was robbed at gunpoint Sunday. No one was shot or injured, police said, but the robber got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

“We are investigating a reported armed robbery which occurred earlier this afternoon inside Hialeah Park Casino,” said Hialeah police spokesman Carl Zogby. Few details were released, and police did not immediately provide a description of the robber.

Zogby said Sunday evening the robbery appears to have involved one robber and one employee.

“No shots were fired, and an undisclosed amount of money was taken,” Zogby said.

Police asked anyone with information about the robbery to call the Hialeah Police Department at 305-687-2525.
