Five people shot in Liberty City, police say
A man seated in the passenger side of a gray Nissan, possibly an Altima, gunned down five people during rush hour on a Liberty City street Monday night.
Remarkably, none of the victims, four women and a man, were critically injured. All were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital and all are expected to survive.
Miami police Detective Rene Pimentel said surveillance video from a grocery store on the corner of Northwest 15th Avenue and 70th Street captured at least part of the shooting.
“Some of them got shot in multiple areas,” he said. “But no one is critical.”
The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. in the intersection between Brewtons Market and a yellow, three-story apartment complex. More than a dozen yellow markers in the street showed where shell casings had fallen. Pimentel said a nearby ShotSpotter recorded about 15 shots.

Police blocked off the intersection and gathered evidence well into the evening. A bike lay on the ground in front of the market. A car in front of the store had several bullet holes.
Police did not identify the victims, release the caliber of the weapon used or say what the motive might have been.
“It could have been a turf war,” Pimentel said. “We don’t know.”
