Investigation continues into fatal Coral Gables gas station explosion
He warned his employer about an air compressor malfunction, then it killed him.
Henry Yarleque Salcedo, a 41-year-old employee at the 76 gas station car wash on the corner of Andalusia Avenue and Salzedo Street, died Saturday afternoon in an explosion.
“It seems like that air compressor inside that facility had some kind of mechanical failure and caused the explosion,” said Lt. David Perez, spokesperson for Coral Gables Fire Rescue.
Perez said the Miami-Dade Police homicide department is investigating from this point on.
