1 killed, 1 critically injured in shooting outside Extacy strip club

Miami-Dade homicide detectives on Sunday were trying to piece together the details of a shooting outside a Northwest Miami-Dade strip club that left one man dead and another critically wounded.

Adding to the mystery: a bullet-riddled car found outside the Ryder Trauma Center with what appeared to be blood inside.

“Detectives believe the car is tied to the shooting,” said Jennifer Capote, a spokeswoman for Miami-Dade police.

But it was not clear Sunday what led to the shooting, which happened just after 4 a.m. outside Club Extacy at Northwest 79th Street and Seventh Ave.

Capote said detectives were also not sure if there were other people involved.

The wounded victim’s sister told Miami Herald news partner CBS4 that her brother, who was shot in the head and hand, was able to get out with the help of a friend.

“He carried my brother like a child, holding my brother close to him,” she told the station, referring to her brother’s friend. “And I really appreciate what he did.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
