Fire, car crash claims life of Miami driver

A woman died early Friday morning after crashing her Lexus, which burst into flames.

Traffic homicide investigators said speed was a factor, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS4. They said the driver was heading northbound on Southwest Third avenue when she hit a curb, crashed into parked cars and then hit a wall. She lost control of her car around 1 a.m. Friday.

The fire caused by the crash, t Southwest Third Avenue and 15th Road, didn’t injure anyone else.

Officials identified the victim, but they will not release the name until family is notified.
