More than 20 cars burned at a junkyard, and it took dozens of firefighters to stop it

A fire ripped through a Northwest Miami-Dade junk yard Friday morning, charring at least 20 cars, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

It took 19 units to quell the flames that sparked just after 9:30 a.m. in the area of Northwest 139th Street and 22nd Avenue.

“The units worked diligently to put out the fire and several units remain on scene putting out hot spots,” the department said.

Video from the fire shows thick plumes of smoke rising from the blaze.

No injuries reported.

It was not immediately clear what started the blaze.
