Two rare baby birds make history at Zoo Miami

A pair of unique baby birds are the newest additions to Zoo Miami and are the first of their kind in the zoo’s history.

The zoo announced that a secretary bird and great blue turaco hatched in the past few weeks. Both birds are native to Africa.

The secretary bird, which can grow to be almost five feet tall, hatched Feb. 15. The great blue turaco hatched Feb. 7 and could grow to be about 30 inches long.
