Cuban migrants, seven with gunshot wounds, found off Key West
Seven Cuban migrants — all with gunshot wounds, possibly self-inflicted—were interdicted at sea Saturday afternoon off Key West, according to keysnet.com
The migrants were taken taken to Lower Keys Medical Center on Stock Island and airlifted to Miami trauma centers.
The seven migrants were traveling on a makeshift raft with another 19 who were also interdicted but did not require medical attention, the U.S. Coast Guard District 7 public affairs office said, adding it's a criminal investigation. The ones not needing medical attention will likely be repatriated.
