Coast Guard searching for man who fell off cruise ship near Key Largo
Search and rescue crews on Sunday are continuing to search for a 46-year-old Texas man who plunged 100 feet from a Royal Caribbean cruise liner into the water near Key Largo early Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
David Mossman reportedly fell from the 10th deck of the Navigator of the Seas around 3 a.m., about 36 nautical miles south of Carysfort Reef Light. The crew of the ship alerted the Coast Guard Sector Key West that Mossman was missing, and a Coast Guard ship was launched to begin a search, according to authorities.
A helicopter and aircraft out of Miami are also assisting in the hunt for Mossman. Crews had searched more than 1,600 nautical miles as of Sunday morning.
