Boat goes up in flames behind Florida Keys house

Firefighters extinguished a flaming boat behind a Florida Keys home Tuesday afternoon, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies, along with the Key Largo Fire Department, arrived at the Pimlico Lane property around 4:10 p.m. and saw the 35-foot boat in flames.

Upper Keys residents said the smoke from the fire was seen for miles along U.S. 1.

Firefighters extinguished the flames ; no one was on the boat nor in the canal-front home, said sheriff’s office spokesman Adam Linhardt, who added there were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
