Sinkhole at a Cooper City McDonald’s nearly engulfs grandmother’s car
A grandmother and her grandson are uninjured after her car fell in a sinkhole in a Cooper City McDonald’s parking lot Thursday afternoon.
The sinkhole was caused by a water main break in the parking lot.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles tweeted photos that show the front left side of the vehicle — a Toyota SUV — engulfed in the sinkhole near the drive-thru at the McDonald’s located at 10260 Griffin Rd. in the Pine Lake Plaza.
The woman and her 4-year-old grandson escaped the vehicle unharmed.
The City of Cooper City tweeted that there was a busted water main in the parking lot and advised people to avoid the area.
