Two dead in Miramar after car drives into canal
Two men are dead after a car drove into a canal early Saturday morning in Miramar, police said.
Officers responded to the single-vehicle crash on the 3400 block of Southwest 132nd Avenue at about 12:30 a.m.
“A neighbor had called 911 after seeing what appeared to be lights from a vehicle coming from the canal,” said Miramar police spokeswoman Tania Rues. “Six Miramar officers went into the canal and pulled two adult male victims out of the vehicle and began CPR. Fire-Rescue arrived and continued.”
The victims — identified as 36-year-old Alfredo Rodriguez and 43-year-old Luis Rodriguez Vidal — were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were Miramar residents.
