Propoane tanks reportedly exploded early Wednesday in a three-alarm fire at a South Broward warehouse.
The fire started just after 3 a.m. at 2121 SW 58th Ter. in West Park. Several fire departments continued to remaining hot spots past 6 a.m.
“Deputies from the sheriff’s office also responded,” said Frank Correggio, spokesman for Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue. “On arrival they noticed smoke and flames coming from the structure. They also heard high-pitched sound coming from inside the structure, which gave them an indication that there was possible propane tanks that were inside.”
The fire was brought under control shortly after 4 a.m., Correggio said, at which point firefighters were able to safely enter the building. No one was reported hurt.
