A car fire turned into a death investigation after Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue put out the flames around 3 a.m. Thursday.

“After the fire was extinguished, one deceased adult male was located inside of the car,” said Fort Lauderdale police Detective Ali Adamson, who described the car as “engulfed” in flames.

The car fire was in the 6400 block of Northwest 21st Avenue, parked next to Palm Aire Village Park.
