Body found floating in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea
A kayaker found the body of a man floating in the water near a Lauderdale-by-the-Sea fishing pier early Tuesday afternoon.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office identified him as Rodly Francois, 37, of Oakland Park.
He was reported missing Sunday after last being seen at the Lauderdale-by-the-Sea beach, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Robyn Hankerson said.
A person on a kayak spotted his body around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday floating on the north side of Anglin’s Fishing Pier at 2 Commercial Blvd., Hankerson said.
Sheriff’s office marine deputies took the body to the 14th Street boat ramp at Alsdorf Park in Pompano Beach, where homicide detectives took over the investigation, Hankerson said in a press release, adding that foul play is not suspected.
