Dania Beach FPL transformer catches fire Sunday night
For the second time in 12 days, one of FPL’s transformers caught fire.
This one happened Sunday night in Dania Beach. No one lost power, according to FPL, which didn’t know the cause. A Chem 6 Broward Fire Rescue truck took care of the blaze, according to Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue.

On Aug. 23, a transformer fire at a West Dade substation poured smoke over Medley and Virginia Gardens while causing a power interruption -- five minutes for approximately 31,500 customers, three and a half-hours for another 3,500 customers.
