Could Bay Point be the next hot neighborhood?
Miami Heat player Goran Dragic purchased a 6,500-square-foot bayfront house on Sabal Palm Road for $7.9 million — a neighborhood record. The home features views of both Biscayne Bay and the downtown skyline, seven bedrooms, six baths, a wine cellar and a waterview pool.
Listing agents for the sale were Miki Curkoski and Albert Justo of One Sotheby’s. The house was on the market for just 39 days.
The previous owners were Harry and Leslie Benitah, according to Miami Dade property records.

Despite its enviable location just north of Edgewater and the Julia Tuttle Causeway, the gated Bay Point neighborhood is a bargain relative to Miami Beach. The Dragic home comes in at $1,215 per square foot — about 40 percent less per square foot than a similarly sized home now available on North Bay Road, according to Curkoski, and about 25 percent less per square foot than the recent asking price for Shakira’s North Bay Road house.
“Bay Point is such a great neighborhood. It’s really private; you can’t get in if you’re not invited,” said Curkoski. No other bayfront homes are now available in the enclave, he said. A bayfront lot similar in size to Dragic’s 23,100 square feet is being offered for $6.75 milllion.
Previous Bay Point records include the July 2015 sale of a 7,400-square-foot bayfront home for $981 per square foot, or $7.25 million, according to the Real Deal. The 2010 sale of a 30,823-square-foot property for $6.77 also set a record, according to the site.
In 2013, singer Enrique Iglesias sold his home for $6.7 million sale to lawyer Stephen Zack.
