Downtown Miami’s former b2 hotel has a new name: Yve Hotel Miami.

The name change, which was effective Dec. 1, follows the $57.5 million sale earlier last year of the 243-room hotel to Host Hotels & Resorts. Destination Hotels manages the property.

Previous owners InSite Group and the Carlyle Group paid $13.5 million for the property — then called the Continental Bayside Hotel — at 146 Biscayne Blvd. in September of 2011. After an extensive renovation, the hotel reopened as b2 in early 2013.

In its latest iteration, the hotel is looking to differentiate itself with curated art installations and its restaurant, Biscayne Tavern, that focuses on locally sourced food. Rates start at $149 a night.
