Give Miami Day brings $7.1 million in contributions to local charities

South Floridians showed their giving spirit, contributing $7.1 million to 600-plus local charities during Thursday’s 24-hour Give Miami Day — almost $2 million more than in 2014.

The Children’s Movement of Florida received the largest number of contributions, with 616 gifts for a total of $158,453. Highest by dollar volume was Greater Miami Jewish Federation, with 343 contributions for $537,571.
