Why they’re in the Food 50: In fewer than five short years, they’ve rocket-propelled Pubbelly from a single restaurant in Miami Beach’s Sunset Harbour neighborhood to an international brand. Founding partners José Mendín (culinary director), Andreas Schreiner (managing director) and Sergio Navarro (design director) recently announced a partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line to open a restaurant called Food Republic on the new Norwegian Escape, set to start cruising from Miami in November. They’re close to opening a new concept, Pubbelly Station, at the renovated Langford Hotel in downtown Miami. And they’re putting five Pubbelly restaurants in Mexico — Mexico City, Monterrey and Playa del Carmen — starting with Pubbelly Sushi this year.

Where to find them: Multiple locations.
