Why she’s in the Food 50: Gabriele Marewski has run South Florida’s premier organic farm for 16 years. If you’ve eaten a dish garnished with microgreens at a South Florida restaurant or bought local mushrooms from Whole Foods around here, odds are they came from Paradise Farms. She put the farm up for sale last year, planning to relocate to Asheville, North Carolina, where her son lives, and start a new career designing work skirts for farmer ladies. The right buyer hasn’t come around yet, and, selfishly, fans of Marewski and of her charity Dinner in Paradise series are hoping he or she never does.
