‘Top Chef’ hunk Sam Talbot in Miami to raise diabetes awareness
Your happy news of the day: Top Chef season 2 fan favorite Sam Talbot will be bringing his handsome, talented self to the South Florida area on Friday night.
Talbot — voted one of People’s Sexiest Men Alive back in 2012 — is the headliner for the Out of the Kitchen fundraiser at the St. Regis Bal Harbour.
He’s a busy man. Aside from opening a restaurant in Brooklyn called Pretty Southern (think lots of fried chicken), the 38-year-old Charlotte, N.C., native runs a nonprofit Beyond Type 1 that he co-founded with singer Nick Jonas, who also has diabetes. Proceeds will benefit the Diabetes Research Institute at UM’s Miller School of Medicine.
Ticketsare $275 at DiabetesResearch.org/Out-of-the-Kitchen. All guests will also receive a signed copy of Chocolate, by the Bal Harbour hotel’s dessert guru Antonio Bachour. Space is limited; reservations required; 954-964-4040.
