Ben Carson meets with fighter
Well, look who showed up on Tuesday to watch Brazilian UFC fighter Vitor Belfort work out at his gym, OTB Fight, in Coconut Creek: Republication presidential candidate Ben Carson. There was no sparring to speak of, political or otherwise. On a video posted to SunSentinel.com, Carson, who lives in West Palm Beach, said he wanted to “talk to a champion of the mind and how that translates into success in an arena like this and get an idea of what kind of mindset goes behind that.”
JIMMY’S WORLD
The host of The Tonight Show — and one of today’s most accident-prone comedians — will be the star of a new ride experience at Universal Studios in Orlando called “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon.” You’ll be transported from Studio 6B (aka the NBC set) through the mean streets of Gotham, encountering everything from iconic landmarks to the deepest subway tunnels and anywhere else that comes to virtual Jimmy’s mind. Don’t worry, it seems safe.
DJ’S DAY
DJ Khaled will have a big day on Thursday. The music mogul, producer, artist, philanthropist and restaurateur is set to pop by Citrus Grove Middle School. The 39-year-old, who just released his eighth studio album I Changed a Lot this week, made a donation to the school’s music program, will talk to students and pick up a key to the city from Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado.
