Report: Patrick Dempsey written out after affair on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ set

Love is in the air over at Dancing with the Stars. Show alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy and recently eliminated pro Peta Murgatroyd looked lovey dovey Monday night when they were snapped leaving a West Hollywood restaurant. The dancers revealed they were a couple back in 2012, but split up for a time. The other hot couple from the reality competition is, of course, Shark Tank’s recently single Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson, who celebrated their graceful exit with a romantic trip to Palm Springs, Calif.

The real reason for Patrick Dempsey’s departure from Grey’s Anatomy? The oldest one in the book. In Touch reports that the actor had an inappropriate relationship with a young woman who worked on the set. “[His co-star] Ellen Pompeo found out and was angry because she’s close friends with [Dempsey’s wife] Jillian, so of course, told her,” an insider explains, adding that the affair led to McDreamy’s death on the show in April after the actress spilled what she knew to the show’s creator and executive producer, Shonda Rhimes, who “has no patience for that kind of behavior.”

Where was Whoopi? The View cohost was absent from the show on Tuesday, and DailyMail.com is reporting the reason: Goldberg rushed to California to be with her older brother Clyde K. Johnson, 65, who later died of a brain aneurysm.
